Start the Day With a Plan

The morning can disappear quickly, so make sure everyone knows when and where they need to be.

Have the suits, shirts, shoes, ties, and accessories ready before everyone arrives. Assign someone to make sure the groom has everything he needs, including the rings if he is responsible for them.

And gentlemen, don't forget to eat!

A wedding day is not the day to accidentally skip lunch because everyone is busy getting ready.

Your photographer can capture the guys helping the groom with his tie, adjusting cufflinks, sharing a toast, laughing together, or simply hanging out.

These aren't necessarily the perfectly posed photographs—and that's what makes them special.

Years from now, you'll want to remember what the day actually felt like.

Know Your Job

Groomsmen aren't just there to look good in the photos.

Know where you're supposed to be and when. Keep an eye on the timeline. Help the groom if he needs something. Make sure everyone has their boutonnière. And when it's time to line up, be where you're supposed to be.

The best groomsmen are the ones who help make the day easier without making themselves the center of attention.

Enjoy the Celebration

Once the ceremony begins, your job is simple: celebrate.
